The P – Ranch is
located approximately 7 miles southeast of Vale,
Oregon. The proximity to Vale, Ontario, Boise,
Idaho and adjoining Treasure Valley provides
many conveniences and savings critical in
today’s economic environment.
The P – can operate as a
total cow/calf operation or any combination up
to and including the finishing of one’s own fat
cattle. Current ownership maintains
approximately 1,000 mother cows, backgrounds the
heaviest 50 % of calves to 850#s and winters the
other 50% on deeded winter grass with supplement
and some alfalfa hay when needed. The lights
then go to outside pasture for spring and summer
grass capitalizing on compensatory gain. All
healthy ranch-raised calves are finished in a
custom lot at Boardman, Oregon.
Diversification possibilities
offer management opportunities to fit any
livestock entrepreneur.
The ranch is well blocked,
cross fenced, adequately watered and adjacent to
headquarters. Livestock flow is a drift with
exception of trucking calves at weaning and
occasional time saving trailering nuances.
